Commercial Craft Design Naval Architect

Robert Allan Ltd has an opening for a Naval Architect specializing in conceptual design of commercial vessels, with special skills and thorough understanding of marine design and good styling of workboats. Required qualifications are:

• BSc in Engineering in Naval Architecture from a well recognized university.
• At least 7 years experience in creative Naval Architecture and marine styling.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in General Arrangements, Lines Plans, Trim and Stability calculations and documentation, Weight Estimating, Propeller Design, hull resistance predictions, and 3-D marine drafting.
• Experience in hull structural design employing both Classification society rules and first principle structural engineering.
• Proficient using the following software: AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxsurf, Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and spoken English; experience in technical report writing.
• Shipyard construction experience.
