Model Builders
Almost every week, we receive requests from model makers to provide plans for one of our most recent designs. Unfortunately, it is our policy to not provide design documentation to modellers for any vessels which are less than ten years old. This is simply a matter of protecting our investment in new designs, and also protecting our competitive position in the marketplace. Regardless of whatever assurances may be offered, we have no control over what may happen to plans once they leave this office.
We are however, pleased to offer several "heritage" designs to model makers, as follows:
36 foot West Coast Troller/Gillnetter
38 foot West Coast Troller
42 foot West Coast Drum Seimer
42 foot Coastal Patrol Boat ('Rock' Class)
46 foot Coastal Patrol Boat ('Rock' Class)
...If you have a specific older vessel in mind we will consider that request
As part of our on-going commitment to support the Vancouver Maritime Museum, our policy with respect to the fees for these modelling plans is that Robert Allan Ltd. will provide the plans in return for a contribution of $125 from the modeller direct to the Vancouver Maritime Museum.
Accordingly, if you wish to purchase any of the above sets of plans, please follow this procedure:
- Contact Robert Allan Ltd. and inform us of the specific set of plans you wish to purchase
- Issue a cheque or money order in the amount of Cdn. $125 made payable to the Vancouver Maritime Museum, and marked "Re: Robert Allan Ltd. Model Plans".
- Deliver or mail your cheque to:
- You will receive a Tax receipt for your donation: when you receive that, please fax or email a PDF copy to our office as proof of payment, and we will issue the drawings as quickly as possible.
